Zero Stars: Unusable Piece of Plastic

This should probably light up when plugged into a working Ethernet jack/port. I tested it on a port that I know works and nothing. money thrown away. Revain: Give us a chance to rate something without stars! It doesn't deserve a single star.

Pros
  • Feels Good
Cons
  • Updated

Already dead on arrival in plugs and adapters

No feedback, not even pass-through. A complete waste of my precious time. Pinout confirmed, just lousy quality control. Obviously their robots or minions can't figure out how to hit.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Replacement availability

I think I bought the wrong one

I bought this tester to check if my ethernet port has failed. I assumed the device would catch fire if it worked. It has no light so I still don't know if the port is active or not.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

It's coming a little.

Works as it should. I dropped the stars because of the keychain loop and the difficulty in activating the unlock. The loop interfered with the trigger lever and made plug removal difficult. After I cut the loop it became easier, but there is still not enough space. Next time I'll look a little longer.

Pros
  • Eliminates the need to carry extra cables
Cons
  • Expensive

Got one today, paid to get one, high hopes, didn't work

The item description says "All you have to do is just get one Connect the Networx(tm) Gigabit RJ45 Loopback Tester to the port you want to test or suspect. If the link LED on your switch is active, it means the connection is working properly." I did. I was looking forward to plugging it into outlets around my house, to my 24-port home switch too go and see which port serves that outlet because the original installers didn't label them on the switch. Nope. Neither port caught fire. When I plug…

Pros
  • Use spare patch cords to connect similar computing devices
Cons
  • boring packaging
