I have worn New Balance boots for many years. They don't keep up with their typical characteristics. Very hard and hard bottom. Although very easy. You have to hack.

The new Balanxe is the best without a bar. My sons are high school pitchers. We bought Nike and found that the mechanics were wrong. They run smaller than other shoes of the same size. I would recommend ordering at least half a size up, maybe even a full size up.

I don't know if it's the outer part of the shoe due to the thin material but it's by far the most uncomfortable boot I've ever owned. The rear part digs into the arch of the foot, when walking in the middle of the shoe there is a lot of flex and they look very plastic.
