Great shoe but not suitable for an active 6 year old.

These shoes fit great and have helped correct my son's foot pronation. He said they are roomy and comfortable and he enjoys wearing them. However, after about a month the seams in the upper forefoot of the shoe began to tear and by 3 months the entire shoe had actually fallen apart. That's probably because my son walks, climbs and crawls on the floor all the time and drags the upper of the sneakers on the floor, but at this price point I was still disappointed.

Pros
  • NB shoes are the only ones that fit my little fat feet πŸ˜† They are expensive in size but the quality is worth it.
Cons
  • Great shoes but too expensive.

Very poor quality!: my rating

I got these for my 8 year old son, I thought these shoes were for sports, running and playing, they broke after 3 weeks. Very disappointed!

Pros
  • OFFERS SUPERIOR SUPPORT AND STABILITY: The New Balance Baby 990 V5 Velcro Shoe features a well-cushioned midsole and durable outsole that offers excellent support and stability. So the child's feet are well protected when moving and playing.
Cons
  • Too heavy for babies

Wide size 13 1/2 is too tight

Will have to send the shoes back. The binding on the top of the toes just below the laces is so tight that I couldn't get my feet into the shoes without cutting off circulation for three minutes. Why do these shoe companies make sneakers like this? These shoes are good for children who have a bony, wide foot, but at the same time do not have a wide and thick instep.

Pros
  • COMFORTABLE AND EASY TO WEAR: The hook-and-loop closure makes it easy to slip on and off, while the soft mesh upper ensures a comfortable fit. This makes the New Balance Baby 990 V5 Velcro Shoe a great choice for parents who want their child's feet to stay comfortable and protected all day long.
Cons
  • High maintenance: The shoe's suede and mesh upper may require more maintenance than other materials, making it less practical for parents who prefer easy-care sneakers for their kids.

Extremely broad: my rating

My toddler usually wears wide shoes but these are very wide. He can't even wear them. Didn't try to go back because we tried twice. It just didn't work.

Pros
  • Only shoes that fit my little one with very wide feet. And they are approved for school uniforms!
Cons
  • The New Balance Baby 990 V5 Hook and Loop is relatively expensive compared to other kids' running shoes on the market, making it less affordable for families on a budget.

Sturdy and supportive

They have a good solid support sole. The velcro is very convenient, especially for the baby. If you've been told your child needs supportive shoes like ours, I recommend these shoes.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled

Wide Size 13 1/2 wide to narrow

Have to return the shoes again.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged
