KJ888V1 Pre Run-K Shoe by New Balance - Unisex Children's Athletic Footwear Review

My 11 year old wears size 5 shoes and these New Balance size 5 tennis shoes fit him perfectly. The colors are beautiful and the shoes are really well made. We have a red and gray combination. The sole has a lot of tread and he wears them comfortably all day to school (they also did a lot of walking outside by the end of the school year). We are happy with these shoes and would buy them in the future.

We just received these shoes so I can't comment on their durability. They are a little narrower than expected and note that pink is a bright neon colour! It's not as subdued as it looks in the photos. Also, the gray is mesh and not suede as described in the product information. I just wanted others to know who can make the ordering decision.

Bought these for my 12 year old and they really suit him and they are comfortable too. The real color of the shoes is the same as the picture (sometimes the real color is different). I recommend them.

This is probably the best pair of shoes I have ever bought, whether for myself or for the child they are intended for. Great look and great quality.

These shoes fit as expected but I am very disappointed that NB is no longer using the XW in the YL-2 last which has a narrower heel and roomier toe. YL-1 still leaves room for orthopedics. It would be nice if NB found a way to prevent small parts of the sole from detaching from the shoe. I always end up sticking one or more back. Despite this, the NB is still the best shoe for people with foot problems who are looking for a cheap shoe that fits in a child's size.

I've been buying New Balance for my third grader since kindergarten. I have a shoe sizer at home so I can measure his feet and easily order from Revain. So far every New Balance shoe I've bought him has been true to size. They also last longer than other brands I've tried for this. He walked through the stage wanting Skechers and honestly it's bullshit. The sole wears down to zero and the shoes become garbage very quickly. I needed a pair of running shoes and chose these: they are comfortable, true to size and passed the noise test. The guy at my local running store said shoes shouldn't make noise when you run. I thought it was weird until I tried on my old shoes and yes they creaked at times. The only negative was the use of a light (I say ultra light) shade of pink. I'm in my 40's and not sure what a sporty daytime pink should be.

I have three girls but only my baby has wide legs. She has been wearing New Balance for over 5 years. These are great shoes for kids who need shoes in wide sizes. The leg is always comfortable, the size is true to size. She's pretty rough with the sneakers and they hold up great!

They came exactly as expected, fit well, great color. However, I thought I would order a size 5.5 US/5 UK. When the shoes arrived they were marked 7.5 US / 5 UK which is not entirely clear. Luckily the shoes fit me and I am happy with the purchase. I don't know what the actual size is, but it worked. It also appears that a labeling mistake was made during production and this is definitely not a Revain issue.

These shoes are very well made with great attention to detail. The stitching is excellent and the materials are very well cut and shaped to create a super comfortable pair of shoes. The sole is well cushioned and light. The upper is highly breathable, making it ideal for warm weather. These shoes are comparable in build quality to higher end adult NB shoes.

My 7 year old son has problems with shoes. We bought a pair of Hawkwell running shoes and with normal use the sole ripped off in a few days. So we sent them back and bought these. Doesn't matter! They are well made and in good condition. He loves her!

Wasn't sure as we haven't bought NB in the past. Son loves them and says they are more comfortable than his Asics. It's also a nice light blue.

Well made, high quality shoes. My child's feet are very wide and New Balance is one of the few companies that makes very wide shoes.

Great running shoes! The dark color is a must for my active kids and the arch support is second to none. This is our second pair (it's outgrown the first) and we will be buying the KJ888 style again!

When I was a kid, my parents always bought me the cheapest sneakers. They looked lame and pretty much just covered your legs. They would have looked like a brand name, but I knew better. I am lucky to be able to afford quality shoes for my son. My 8 year old says he feels fine. It has good toe space. Shoes correspond to today's fashion. He wears them to school and gym class, but doesn't play in the mud. You look too good to fall off and get dirty.

I had many foot surgeries, repeated instructions. Pins, screws, ankle replacement. It's so convenient. I went and bought two more pairs.

Great shoe and so far really durable. My 11 year old is very picky about shoes and I have to change them every month but we are 2 months old and so far so good! He says they are very comfortable! I think the best thing about these boots is that they are fully covered in leather and feel more durable.

My son has very wide feet and has trouble finding the right shoes. These fit great. The only complaint is that the laces on the shoes are often untied. This is a common problem with line breaks, so no big deal.
