I bought these for retail work. Makes walking on concrete all day much more bearable. The forefoot of the shoe is made of breathable fabric, so it's quite forgiving in the toe area. Didn't really have to be broken in. I usually wear them loosely and notice that the fabric frays a little faster in this area on the thumb. Despite what I've been through with them I would say they hold up well and I will definitely be buying another pair.
