Not suitable for serious runners

I have three other running shoes from NB: 1080V9, Tempo and Rebel. I was expecting this shoe to be more like a 1080, but it's not. The foam is harder. I have to say that the fit of the shoe is just great. For hiking (I walk 5 km with my wife) it's great. Very comfortable, fit well and light. But for serious runners? There are better shoes out there, especially for the price. Buy on sale but don't pay full retail price.

Pros
  • Easy to use

Perfect for running

Foam midsole cushioning must be precisely measured to provide adequate instep resistance as well as cushioning to protect your joints from impact. That's a pretty subtle calculation. For a person who is over 6 feet tall and weighs over 250 pounds, this shoe works like no other. They protect me from rollovers on hard surfaces and provide extra buoyancy, making it much easier to move forward. Great product and stylish too.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Available in white only

Worth the money

I've worn pretty much every brand of shoe and while New Balance has always been known for being comfortable, this shoe takes comfort to the next level. They fit perfectly and are lighter than a feather. The aesthetic might not be to everyone's liking, but I think they look quirky. I use them for HIIT and everyday. Also, over $100 for an athletic shoe seems extravagant as there are so many cheap, great options out there, but I'm glad I splurged.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

No support for men

I'm a sprint triathlon athlete so I train a lot. I've worn New Balance sneakers for decades. These shoes are terrible. There is no support or cushioning. I removed the inserts to observe the cushioning and they aren't even 1/8 inch deep. It's like stepping on a thin piece of cardboard. The reading heel is not suitable for running or walking because it does not fit properly. I always read reviews to help me buy a product. It's my fault and I didn't do it alone. I have another pair of NB foam…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Secret

Nothing like V2!

I've ridden a few hundred miles in the Beacon V2 and it's the best shoe I've ever owned. Lightweight, soft as a cloud, but strong enough to cover some distance without excessive leg fatigue and heel lock. For me, the Beacon V2 is the perfect running shoe. At the same time, Beacon V3 is NOTHING like V2. The heel cup is the main problem with these shoes. It's so flat that no matter how tight I lace my shoes, my heel slides up with every step, causing severe pain in my Achilles tendon and the back

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
