My daughter wears braces for her legs. Double wide shoes perfectly match her legs with suspenders. We increased the size, which was a good decision. Great shoes!

As I have a special needs child who wore Afos and now Smos this is the only brand I have found in an extra wide size! The strap is amazing because who wants to tie it when trying to put the brace on. I've bought 4 pairs since my son grew up!

I will keep buying these shoes as my daughter grows. She inherited my wide feet and my penchant for New Balance lol. I'm glad they exist, they're the only shoes that fit her for sure, they're machine washable and they look pretty cute. She outgrows them before they wear out, so that's a plus too.

My daughter has a wide foot and New Balance is one of the few brands that have "true" wide sizing. My 3 year old daughter wears them as play and walking shoes. We go for long walks and they did very well. New Balance children's shoes are in no way inferior to adults in terms of quality. I've learned from other brands that this isn't always the case.

For those of you who are looking up to your growing baby, DO NOT! I always bought a half size bigger for my little man and that was ok. You work longer and bigger. Bought these in 2xw then compared them to a few other NB styles in 2.5xw and these 2 are the same length as 2.5! Just measure their foot and use exactly what is measured and you should be fine. July 2021 update: These shoes are of very poor quality. I just feel like spending my money. When I received them I was pleased that they fit perfectly for a wide leg, but after a few months of use and not every day they turned into junk! I do not recommend them! Stop thinking, reading, searching, just buy. Our LOs have chubby little feet and definitely fit the XW better than the W - the Velcro on them and the lack of elastic on the back of the tongue make these shoes PERFECT for chubby little feet. We bought them in three different colors and have been wearing them for her since she has been a size 3T (now 6T).
