Version 2 is not as supportive as version 1.

I find that the second version is a bit disappointing compared to the first version. The shoe's upper feels lower than the original and the materials are much lighter. The reason I have this particular model of shoe is for orthopedic reasons and this version doesn't seem to be as stable as the previous one.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • There are problems

Great for planter fasciitis

I have a hard time finding running shoes that don't hurt my feet because I have planter fasciitis. I wear Birkenstocks all the time, but for my new job I had to buy a pair of sneakers. I tried several pairs but they just didn't work. I ended up buying these and putting my Birkenstock earbuds in and it's great! My feet don't hurt anymore!

Forget those shoes. Just read my review below!

NB running shoes are not as good as they used to be. Forget those shoes. Order an older 1540 from A Perfect Dealer in New Jersey. Larry (owner) has commissioned some original 1540s specifically for his business. THANK YOU LARRY! The only negative I can say is that the quality of the shoes just isn't the same. NB goes under. But they are still the best option for me. I have wide feet and wear 4E) New Balance Women's W1540 Running Shoe, White/Purple, 11 2E US.

Great nursing shoes

I am a nurse and have been wearing these shoes for about 4 years. My podiatrist originally recommended about 3 different New Balance pairs and these were the only ones I would have been caught off guard with. (Now I'm 34 years old, but I'm still not ready for all those brown orthopedic leather straps with Velcro). They look really good and my feet feel so much better after a 13 hour shift in them. I add a few insoles that the doctor recommended for arch support, but this shoe has stood the test

Pros
  • Sequins

  • Not as thick as other models

e.g. upper part of shoe runs smaller

These shoes have changed since I bought my last pair about two years ago. They are not as deep in the insole as the top of the boot is flatter. In addition, the sole is not so thick, high and appears durable and soft. I often have to adjust my foot in the boot because the heel slips off - too small. For a while they were so good and stable that I ordered them online knowing I would get them. -No longer. Now I think I'll look for other training shoes and try them on in the store to make sure I'm

  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Short toe, good for road running

While the shoe looks great, I couldn't get over the forefoot being too short. I felt like my toe was resting on the edge of my boot when my toes were properly extended. I've never had this problem and ordered them in two sizes, 7 and 7 1/2 to make sure I got the right one and both had the same problem with my foot slipping out of the back of the 7 1/2 . 2 because they were too big in that area. I originally bought New Balance because they are highly recommended for wide feet and I also wearโ€ฆ

New Balance Women W1540 V2

I usually wear 990 but I wanted white shoes for summer and 990 is sold out in white. I agree with another reviewer that the heel feels different. I can't tell if the heel is shorter (top to bottom) or slightly wider. Anyway, I've adjusted the fit with different Thorlo socks and everything is fine. I wear them as casual shoes, not specifically as athletic shoes. Although I walk a lot. My usual shoe size is a slim 10, but New Balance's 11 fits me better. I have a high instep and arch, forefoot or

Comfort and fit are a must!

I love this New Balance 1540 V2, I had an accident in 2010 and have since gained weight due to knee and foot injuries from the accident. I looked everywhere for trainers, hiking shoes or sneakers that would fit my foot as my right foot is now pedaling differently than before the accident. I stumbled across the Biggest Loser Show and saw her wearing these shoes, I researched them and ordered a pair. You are perfect in every way. The motion control works so well that it aligns the lower back andโ€ฆ

EXCELLENT support after a foot injury - comfortable too!

Shoes provide great support when transitioning from orthopedic boots to street shoes - lightweight but very durable sole (and comfortable). Mesh on the sides ensures that the shoe does not feel too tight. I normally wear a size 7 but after breaking a fifth metatarsal I went down to a size 7ยฝ due to the slight ongoing swelling. Although I usually wear a narrow width, I ordered a medium to compensate for the swelling in my foot. Luckily there is ample padding in the ankle area so the width wasโ€ฆ
