Description of 🚿 Niagara Conservation GIDDS-151484 Tri-Max 3 Flow Rate Showerhead: Black & Chrome Efficiency Shower Head

Unique showerhead utilizes three pressure-compensated flow rates: 0.5 GPM / 1.0 GPM / 1.5 GPM. Select flow rate based on desired water usage and task for maximum savings. Patented flow compensator gives consistent flow regardless of available water pressure. Even, vacillating spray. WaterSense listed.

Excellent flow control. Teflon tape required

Adjusting the flow rate to my liking was very easy. Allows you to set the flow rate between the minimum and maximum rates. 0.5gpm was too low so I adjusted it to around 0.8gpm. That's half the 1.6 gpm I got from the old head. I still have enough (short hair) and half the previous water consumption. Excellent. I had to use 20 turns of Teflon tape during installation to prevent leaks. The rubber seal doesn't go well with the thin-walled pipe in my shower. Also, the thread is pretty loose.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Adjustable smooth variable pressure

Looks good, be sure to consider the mounting direction and thread type - usually NPT. Great value for money, lots of adjustment options. I also like my old Nebia shower, slightly more GPM than the lowest setting on this head but a lot more pressure on the Nebia (Nebia felt like needles or a cloud * I understand Nebia sprays water in tiny droplets so depending on the settings, it feels different.) I like this one though - it's unobtrusive, inexpensive and feels like regular water.

Excellent shower head.

I bought this shower head for a new bathroom renovation. Considering I live on a well and not city water, I wanted to conserve water and still get a decent shower. I was skeptical about this item at first, but I am happy with my purchase. I wish they looked like worn bronze but the shower head still does the job. On the next line, I notice that the water is much warmer compared to my previous shower head. This can also depend on how the shower head was designed. Otherwise I think the purchase…

Ideal for RVs but not for home use. Offers inclusive

I want to save on my water bill. TRUST ME! I was able to pay $600/year for 360+ days of electricity use, including central MO heating! Now that you know how conservative I am, I still have limitations. I switch from the Niagra 1.25 GPM shower head and to my surprise it just doesn't wash the dirt off my hairy legs (I'm a male). It's a light rain rather than a heavy rain, which I think is important for washing the fine dirt from your hair and body. This would be great for an RV for example as it…

I love this shower head

I love this shower head. I replaced the old one in a new apartment that was barely fluent. I know the apartment has low water pressure so I was looking for something with high pressure and low GMP. That's cool. It's easy to adjust between settings (it's currently set to a number that matches Niagara's wording above). I can set it to 1.5 to wash my hair, which is very thick and reaches my waist. 0.5 is enough, while I soap up or shave it gets damp and warm (I have no air conditioning in my…

. a month since i bought this product and it works great. However

It has been about 6 months since I bought this item and it works great. However, the only issue I've had a bit of an issue with is that 0.5 GPM seems to work intermittently after about 2-3 months. Even when I turn the knob all the way to the right for the 0.5 setting, it sometimes sprays at 1 gallon per minute. I'm not sure if this is just a construction flaw or a design flaw, but it looks like the 0.5 GPM setting is flicking on and off. Otherwise it works great. - Updated - 19.11.15. Just a…

Maximum efficient water use

Water usage close to nominal. Comfortable shower at 0.5 GPM, so in a class of its own for water savings. Since 0.5 is the norm rather than one of the higher settings, using the 1.0 and 1.5 settings occasionally seems like a special treat. The shower head makes a robust and easily adjustable impression. Water drops are big. The pulsating "massage" makes the beam more interesting. Much water. Wide enough to keep you warm in a cold house. Visitors who said they disliked low-flow showers said they…

Save water, save the world

We love this shower head. I chose this because it's one of the lowest flow options available and I'm really interested in the possibility of customization. The shower heats up easily at 0.5 GPM and is also very good for saving water while soaping, shaving my legs etc. and I can shower longer without feeling sick and my fiance can have a full pressure, if he wants, when he wants, take a short shower. Others weren't happy with the 1.5 GPM max output, but I found it very useful. It should be noted

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Almost OK

Saving tons of water, but problems with tankless water systems

Please correct the drawing. I bought 2 and both were white plastic with a gray ring (shown is chrome with a black ring). Struggling with the drought here in California, I wanted to try different showerheads. That's great, but there are some trade-offs compared to traditional showerheads. The woman hates it because the water splashes over a large area and she claims the water "hurts" when it hits her neck and chest (I didn't really notice, so I'll take her word for it) . I have to remind them…
