Wired Lights in Wire-Free Housing

These lights are so efficient that the only wire connectors that fit inside the housing are used to connect low voltage devices such as car audio systems. You can't easily connect wire nuts or code sized quick connectors. If possible, you'll need a rubber mallet to pry them together.

works well, built in bear

works well, looks nice but what a built in bear. Four problems: (1) There is hardly any space in the housing for the necessary connections (and nuts). very difficult to close it definitively; (2) the wires aren't all long enough (had to splice some wire from elsewhere to make it work; (3) missing a piece, a nut to hold the ground wire in place; and the mounting screws suggest that You have a very deep screw-in spot or a wall that needs anchors [doesn't make much sense for something meant to be…

Good light but a bit fiddly, read other reviews

After installation, the light is fine. Looks quite heavy, real metal construction. Good ending. But first it's a hardwired 120V AC direct connect light. No power cord. I didn't know that from the description of the lamp. Minus -1 point. You will need to disassemble the flashlight to access the small bags of extra screws and connectors. It's tight inside, but not impossible for hardwiring. BTW I hooked up a short cheap extension cord to make mine work as a plug in light since I wasn't set up to…

Well made but tricky to install

The device is well made and well packaged. I came with two pears. The switch is there. Adding power cords is obvious and easy. The only downside to the block is that it is narrow and having left room for the ballast, switch and all the wire nuts there is little room for the wire nuts you need to add. for power cable. Installing new power nuts can be challenging depending on which part of the box you are coming from. I highly recommend taking the time to plan out the inner packaging before…

Tension Headache: Lighting and Ceiling Fans

The size of this light fixture was perfect for replacing an old fluorescent light bulb under a broken closet. But the installation is more difficult than it should be. The light consists of two main parts: the housing, which is attached to the bottom of the body, and the electrical components or "cables" which include all the wires, the power switch and the ballast. and lamp sockets. The cable cover is held in place by tension alone, with the edge of the cover hooking into two tiny lugs on the…
