Broke after 3 months

I have a Nikon D3000. I dropped the camera and broke the native lens that came with the camera. So I had to replace it. Bought. The price is decent. Well, it was working great, but then suddenly it stopped working. It is no longer focused. I also noticed that it was smaller than my original lens. not sure if that means anything. Pros
  • Focal length 18-55 mm
Cons
  • Big and clumsy

When testing the lens (at 35mm) versus the 35mm 1.4, it performed remarkably well in daylight. For comparison, I shot the same object with both lenses and opened the files in Photoshop, zoomed to the maximum possible magnification. I was surprised to see little difference in the amount of detail captured by the lenses. I give the lens…

Pros
  • Maximum aperture f3.5-5.6
Cons
  • Doubt
