I have a D7000 with an AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4G lens and thought it would be nice to add a wide angle zoom for video work. The price made this lens a no-brainer. When testing the lens (at 35mm) versus the 35mm 1.4, it performed remarkably well in daylight. For comparison, I shot the same object with both lenses and opened the files in Photoshop, zoomed to the maximum possible magnification. I was surprised to see little difference in the amount of detail captured by the lenses. I give the lens five stars because the price is so high considering the image quality compared to the price. However, I warn against buying from the seller. High quality photo that fulfilled my order through Revain. They sent me - apparently - a used lens without a lens hood. When I wrote to them that the hood didn't come in the (torn, sealed) box, they told me to send the product back at my own expense. I will not buy again if you are a seller.
