Description of 📷 Complete Review: Nikon 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED IF Autofocus Nikkor Zoom Lens (Discontinued)

Ultra-compact, lightweight G-type 7.1x zoom lens with 62mm filter attachment size. Shortest closest focusing distance of any 28-200mm lens: 1.3 feet at 200mm. Three aspherical lenses and three ED glass elements for higher optical performance. Seven-blade rounded diaphragm achieves a natural blur for out-of-focus elements. Nikon D-type design provides precise distance information for flash and ambient light exposure processes.

Great all round lens

Great all round lens. Once the photos are processed and printed, there is no difference between this lens and a $1,000+ lens. Pixel lovers might get nervous.

Ideal for DX Camera

I have used this on DX and FX cameras. On the DX (Nikon D300) the image is very sharp and the images have very good contrast. With a full-frame FX sensor (I used the D800), the outer edges of the image aren't as sharp as the center. This is a common problem with zoom lenses in general, especially at wide zoom ranges, and the D800 is a camera with such high resolution that it can exaggerate the shortcomings of any lens. In fact, this lens is significantly sharper than some of my other prime…
