All around phenomenal lenses. Proven for decades.

A phenomenal lens in every way. Tested and proven in decades of shooting by thousands of photographers around the world. It should be obvious, but this lens is manual focus ONLY.

Doesn't work with camera lenses

My x-t2 only focuses on subjects under 18". No focus at infinity. I use it with the new Fotodiox adapter and the new Gobe adapter. So 2 adapters and a lens don't focus either. Looks like I'll be returning the lens and adapters. Neither Focus Assist nor Focus Peaking will work with this combination. Focusing aid and profit work with Fuji lenses. I had high hopes for using vintage Nikkor glass on my x-t2. OK. To update. The lens was returned, the money was refunded. Very easy. Many Thanks

Great for macro photography but a little short on timing.

One of the sharpest lenses in the world. Great for macro photography but a little short in focal length for any close-up. The front element is embedded so deep in the lens barrel that no lens hood is required. Ideal for portraits and good bokeh. Excellent focus ring with smooth movement, good for videos.

Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 AIS Lens

Used. Manual focus. clear images. Pleasant blurring of the background with a larger aperture. With narrow apertures, the 7 blades are clearly visible in blurred round highlights. The glass may have scratches. I need to shoot more with different apertures with soft backgrounds. In the close-ups I took, I only saw something fishy once or twice. But even if there are a few scratches, as I said, they are hardly noticeable on the objects I photograph. And I'm not complaining about the acceptable…

Reference optics good for lenses

I've had this lens before; However, I mainly used it for duplicating slides. In that respect it was excellent. I used newer macro lenses with longer focal lengths; and admittedly they cost more than the extra money required to buy these new lens/optics designs. However, the limited full functionality of this lens with current cameras is the only real downside. I had the opportunity to use it again; and I have to say it's better than I thought. In the past, photographers bought premium macro…
