Heaven and earth, when compared to Tamron and Sigma's respective super-zoom lenses. Indeed, the price is a whopping three times more. But whatever else one could say, the fact remains that super-zooms have a long edge. Take a look at how it compares to my Tamron 150-600 G2. This lens is able to capture more detail when used wide open (F/5.6) than the Tamron can when it is stopped down to F/8. This is the first pause in the brightness! It is not even worth discussing a comparison on fully wide…

Pros
  • - Extremely portable - Extremely lightweight - Extremely crisp - Focusing speed on par with lenses costing ten thousand dollars or more - Capable of using a 1.4x teleconverter even on crop-carcasses while keeping the aperture open - Does not have any rivals in terms of performance attributes
Cons
  • - The price to quality ratio is not particularly good, but all expensive products are non-linearly behind in this regard - The Native "foot" is cumbersome for carrying around. Not Arca-Swiss, which is the standard mounting system for tripods nowadays. There is a button labeled "emergency reset" that is simple to press with your fingertip. Your equipment will fall to the ground if the screws are not tightened sufficiently. However, the viewfinder will remain stable long after the shutter button has been released because of the way it was designed. Because of this, you are need to wait for the stub to turn off, which can take anywhere from one to two seconds, before withdrawing the camera from your eye. This is because it is extremely undesirable to subject the lens to quick movements while it is in the stabilization condition.

The very best ones are the lens of a hunter's dreams if that hunter likes to travel light, be mobile, and use as little supplementary gear as possible. The size is such that it does not particularly grab the attention of strangers. The curious were more drawn to the number 300 2.8. All of its advantages. A photographer's dream camera would be one that is light, fast, and sharp. The decision to switch from the 300/2.8 resulted in a considerable improvement in both the number and the quality of…

Wow just wow the best in the Camera & Photo category

I bought this lens because I (and most people don't) want a 500-600-800F4 lens for about 8- 10,000 to start. It's a fraction of the price and yes it's only F5.6 but you get a darn good lens, I paired mine with a D850 and wow just wow. I love this lens and have also paired it with a Nikon 1.4 Tele and noticed a loss of around 3-4% in image quality. So that's a win. If you are considering buying this lens, DO NOT buy it, you will not regret it.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Nothing

Worth the wait! fits camera lens

I've been waiting a long time for this to be in stock. It's worth it! I love photographing wildlife and often take it with me on long hikes. The weight saving compared to my Nikon 200-500 is worth the 10km ride per day. The output image is what you would expect from a top-of-the-line Nikon prime lens. This is also my first lens with assignable buttons. I had no idea how often I would use them. These days I usually only take this lens and the 300mm lens with me on adventures. If you move a lot…

Not very good with TC 1.4 III

I bought this hoping for 1050mm on the D500. There are already 200-500 and others. Too new to have any 500pf ratings with TC 1.4 III. Consider it first. Works poorly with TC as well as 200-500. The sharpness is good to very good without TC, but with significantly less sharpness. Maybe 600pf will be enough when it comes out? My credentials; Over 130 images published in the last 4 years, 7 landscape books published, many awards and museum exhibitions. Regarded as one of the best landscape and…

Fantastic lens, poor delivery

About the lens This lens is excellent quality and produces high quality images, super fast defocusing and beautiful rendition, background blur, colors are amazing too. Highly recommended. Poor delivery After I received the lens the packaging box was fine but when I opened the box I saw a lot of damage to the original Nikon box as you can see in the video opening the 8n box were the lenses ok but was still unhappy with the damage to the box and bothered me that the lens has no internal damage so

Worth the price Lenses

Probably my favorite lens for bird and wildlife photography. After using this lens almost every day for 6 months I can say that this lens is excellent and worth the price. I actually chose Nikon because it's the cheapest (laughs) 500mm lens on the market. The autofocus is fast and responsive, and the manual override feature is great for locking on to fast-moving targets like goldencrest warblers and warblers. Also works great with my teleconverters (1.4x and 2.0 with Nikon Z7). Exit VR in sport

Damaged Nikon packaging, scratched lens hood and blur lens

I rented this lens before buying it and was delighted with its size/weight and sharpness. After being constantly delayed since its release, it went on sale again in November 2020 and went on sale for the first time at a $300 discount. I finally decided to pull the trigger. The disappointment started when I opened the box, the Nikon packaging had a corner chipped off, although the packaging box looked fine. As I unpacked the lens further, I found 2 cosmetic scratches on the lens hood. After…

Nikon's smartest and most advanced 500mm super telephoto lens yet!

I bought a Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6E VR lens a few years ago to get the 500mm focal length on my full-frame Nikon D750. I still love this lens for its excellent wide-angle optical performance considering its price and how it complements my trio of f/4G VR lenses from 16mm to 200mm, but this new 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR is completely different. beast complete. First off, the most amazing thing about this lens when you first take it out of the box is its size and weight. Following in the footsteps of…
