Save your $ on Wiring Harnesses

I don't know what you would use that for. I didn't see the addition for indoor use only. For a van, is this an outdoor item unless you plug your van inside?

Test with voltage tester first

Product came ready to use. plugged in and my voltage/surge protector said "neutral/ground" backwards. Due to the date of purchase, it is too late to return it.

  • Excellent price
Cons

Perfect descent from 50 AMP

Works as described. The positive is the handle that connects to the 50 AMP line. The old one had a hook to release it. It has a nicer grip that helps it come off easily. highlighted.

Good replacement for electrical

Good connector to have on hand. The only thing I'd like to read better is "outdoor use" for aquatic purposes. The description was fuzzy and I didn't search for "outdoor use" which I think would be fine as I'm using it for an RV. Otherwise, it looks like a well-made, thick cable connector.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Unreliable

Plug burned out on first use

Pro - This adapter uses thick cable, so don't worry about the cable capacity. Con - a 30 amp plug consists of thin electrodes bent over each other. This results in higher resistance and therefore heating when the limits of the adapter are exceeded. I melted the fork end the first time I used it. I then bought a replacement Camco 30 amp solid electrode plug and it works much better.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some issues

DO NOT BUY TESLA

If you have a Tesla 50Amp mobile charger it will NOT work so you will need a 50Amp 4 pin plug into a 30A plug can convert. Socket with amplifier for 3 pins. This is because Tesla chargers have a circuit built in that only charges when the number of pins on the tip of the charger equals the number of pins in the socket. According to my Tesla buddy (he's very smart and I believe him) you can use this but it needs to be combined with some other adapters that convert a 3 pin connector back to a 4…

  • Few competitors

  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Good product but be careful

This adapter looks good quality and reliable. However, regardless of appearance, I always take the following precautions when connecting: Use a network analyzer to check the circuit of the campsite socket to see if there is a fault in the campsite power line. This is your first line of defense against damage to your new adapter and, more importantly, your RV's electronics and equipment. Turn off the socket (turn off the power by pressing the power button or the power button if the socket has…
