I needed an easy way to turn the electric fence on and off to enter my poultry yard. It turns out to be the perfect solution for my 12 volt solar system. The positive connection is continuous and the negative connection is toggled. Works great and easy to install. The battery and the solar controller are in a weatherproof box. The switch mounts on the outside of the box and the wiring runs through the back of the switch through the wall of the box.

I tested it at 120A for about 30 minutes The switch got VERY HOT (despite being tested with all sides open). Should be 275A. If heated to 120A, it will burn at 275A (at least 5.2x the power dissipation, probably more due to the increase in resistance with temperature). Another crappy product bought from Amazon. It becomes clear that there are so many fakes here that you can't buy anything technical on Amazon, it's sad.

Good quality but the label says you have to hook the plus on one side and the minus on the other side, if you do this you will not only smoke your electronics but you can also be injured. THIS IS A BUILT-IN SWITCH!. Positive wire goes in and positive wire goes out, turning the dial simply cuts power or breaks the wire to stop the current flow. DO NOT CONNECT THE POSITIVE TO ONE SIDE AND THE NEGATIVE TO THE OTHER like the instructions say! If you're not stupid, then that's fine! :0

Received this to replace a switch in my camper that I turned too far and broke. It works just as well as the original and I've used a marker to add instructions so I won't try to push this to the outside like in the past. :) To be fair, this switch is easier to determine the on and off position compared to my original, so it will probably last me for a long time. The long screws are probably great for many mounting options, but they'll last a long time if you have a thin wall to mount these to.

This could get a better view if it came with instructions. Somehow I missed the rough outline on the descriptive photos, maybe it wasn't there then. I followed the photo attached to this review which shows two color wires attached to a switch. Black negative, white positive, right? NO! This has shorted out $400 worth of lithium batteries!
