Good charger for trolling motors

Installation is a bit problematic. I put them side by side in my ranger, off road. In order to be able to see the front panel I had to make a bracket to mount it. It turned out to be a long and dirty job. After installing it seems to work. The time will show. I suppose if it were installed in the engine compartment of a road vehicle it would be easier, but in this case it would be better to make mounting brackets so it can be mounted either horizontally or sideways.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Not the best

NOCO Genius GEN5X1 in Trolling Motors

Visually this unit looks very well built. It has worked very well so far, but I've only used it three times. I only gave 3 stars because of one problem, namely that the device gets hot. I charged it in an air conditioned room at 77 degrees Fahrenheit and the device reads 135 degrees Fahrenheit while charging. It concerns me. What would he get if the block was out at 90 or 100? Heat destroys, so I'm worried. Time will tell about this device.

Does exactly what it should.

I bought this because I had battery discharge problems in my car and after 3 times in different shops no one could find the reason. I figured the charger might be the answer instead of constantly changing batteries. It was easy to install under the hood and feels solid. Since installing this charger I have had no more battery issues. Now when I park my car in the garage, I just plug it in and the battery stays charged. I waited a few months before writing this review to make sure it worked and…

Great investment

I should have bought this many years ago. I use 2 batteries, 1 to run the outboard and 1 to run the electronic trolling motor, plus 2 Hummingbird Helix 7 and Hummingbird, Helix 7, CHIRP MSI GPS G3N on the bow. I didn't connect them to the main engine via a battery isolator because I don't want to risk engine malfunctions. My outboard is charging my starter battery. This thing works great (invest in a NOCO GCP1 15A AC wall plug, 125V input socket, and waterproof socket with a built-in 16"…

  • Everything is great!

So far so good, best in boating and sailing

I bought one of these for one of my cars. I work six days in a row and then rest for eight days. I drove this car very little at the time. I have a dash cam that runs all the time and I've heard a couple of times that the battery is a little low. I also use this car for camping and had issues with the battery from the dome light and dashcam. I dropped it in no time. I used a large zipper to secure it where I wanted it. Pull the cord through the grill for easy access. Connected a few times, so…

Excellent charger, beware of the mod cable

The charger itself is excellent. No complaints, it works great for my small LiFePO4 battery. BUT. If you're dumb like me and cut the wire to shorten it, you'll probably notice a smaller set of wires between the two power wires in that wire. . "Hmm," you might be thinking, "what are they for?" But you keep going anyway. Turn it on and bam! That does not work. You get a temperature error from the device. These two wires are for the thermistor, which is located in the wire junction where the wire…
