Disappointing for fans and cooling

I am using two fans side by side mounted horizontally on the underside of a vent on the top of my case. The ventilation opening is designed for a heat sink and offers space for two 12 cm fans. I realize that any technology used to suspend the hub and blades in fans is somewhat compromised when the fans are in a horizontal position. I used corner silencers (sold separately) so there is no noticeable noise. However, the fan is no quieter than other fans I've used above 700 RPM or so. The fans are

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • No instructions

This fan is ideal for computer exhaust. Since it's airflow optimized and not based on static pressure (e.g. to push through a radiator or tower) I bought it instead of the original style because I don't like the color scheme of the OG fan. Allows you to achieve the perfect balance between high cooling performance and low noise levels in each specific situation. In the picture shown, the fan is shown on the far left, equipped with a Noctua NA-SAVP1 chromax. Black anti-vibration pads (They're a…

The Noctua hype is real.

You are awesome! I started with standard fans in my case - NZXT s340, so everything that goes with it. Upgrade to Corsair AF120s. They were a decent improvement. Swapped them out for these guys - BIG improvement! I have seen my temperatures drop significantly and they are quiet too. On the plus side, the cables come with pre-wound sleeves. Looks good although the case material is a bit sticky/tacky. But it's better than the sleeveless ketchup and mustard cables that many fans have. Also, call…

No point buying this as long as P-12 exists

Noctua recommends 12B for case cooling on their website and P-12 recommends for heatsink cooling, although P-12 has more of the 12. CFM at maximum speed. So I got a bunch of P-12s and S12Bs (this model) and fitted them to a Mesify C (a very typical mid-range case) to see how it cools. The testing methodology was simple: ambient, medium usage and full throttle aida64. Under all circumstances, the P-12 performed better by at least 3 degrees. Aida64 screenshots are attached showing that the cores…

Best 120mm fan I've ever used in terms of performance

Noctura has been touted as one of the best PC fans for years. But I've only recently started using them regularly since their old color scheme was so ugly in most builds. This two-tone gray turned out to be lighter than I expected, but still went well with the aesthetic of the builds I bought them for. I wish they would offer black cases with white fan blades. But the performance of this fan is fantastic! I use them in the Fractal Design Define C cases. I chose the high pressure fans to bypass…

Great fans found in Redux

This fan is great. Just for starters. My system has 4 fans installed (besides the obvious fan on the graphics card). All fans are Noctua Redux fans. Two 140mm 1200rpm fans, one 120mm 1200rpm fan (this one) and one 92mm 1600rpm fan. I found they all do a great job of pushing and pulling air through the case. However, a 120mm fan is not suitable for heatsinks or radiators. The fan uses blade-like fins, which are great for sucking air in, but don't provide good "static" or constant air pressure…

Noctua quality - good price.

I bought two of these to complete my PC case and ensure air is getting in and out. My case is an older NZXT Source 210 and if you are familiar with this case you may know that the front panel has some limited air intakes. So much so that when I first installed these fans (set to full speed because I don't yet have a 4-pin splitter extension cable long enough to add the PWM functionality from the motherboard), the noise levels weren't all that great bad was front panel. However, when I…
