Great fans! And quiet

These are really good fans, I have 3 of them on my computer and they definitely create a good flow in the case. but they didn't work with my phantek fan tray. what is terrible or lacking from what i read in the reviews. But I fixed it very quickly with some data for 3 pin fan adapters. So if you plan on using a fan controller, make sure it supplies enough voltage, or just order some adapters just in case.

Works great in Drobo 5N

I replaced a dead fan in my Drobo 5N with this fan. This required a bit of soldering as the connectors were different than the original Drobo fan, but it is much quieter than the original fan and almost 4 months after purchase the fan is as quiet as it was when installed. Please note that it is not completely silent, but it is much quieter than the original.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Low repairability

Fan Workhorse - Computer Components

I recently built a new ATX mid tower PC that came with two intake fans and no exhaust fans. My 212 Evo processor has 1 fan above the heatsink. I figured I should probably have at least one exhaust fan, so I did some research and heard a lot of praise from Noctua, so I got one and installed it on the back of my case in line with the CPU fan. The fan itself is actually pretty loud, but I use headphones so I don't care, but what really struck me was my CPU temperature. I've been playing Civ 5 for…

Awesome Fan - Internal Components

I took this to replace a broken fan in my Drobo 5n and it works great. The NF-F12 is actually an upgrade of the stock fan in almost every way. My Drobo runs quieter and cooler than ever. And with an MTBF of 150,000 hours I can expect this fan to last longer than the 4 year old fan. Warning if like me you are purchasing this fan as a replacement for Drobo. The NF-F12 has a three-pin connector, while the Drobo only has a two-pin connector. You need to connect the appropriate plug. However, if…

great for drobo - Computer Components

A fan died on my Shotgun 5d causing the drives to overheat. Instead of spending a ridiculous amount of money on a replacement, I decided to give this Noctua a shot. It's a very simple process of cutting and stripping wires, then connecting red to red, black to black. Soldering iron to secure the connection and then just shrink the wires. This fan is MUCH quieter than stock and cools just as well, if not better. (For those doing this with a fraction you can just cut off the yellow wire as it…
