Fast and easy. in thermometers and timers

Good thermometer. The lid protects it when it's in my utensil drawer. The temperature is clockwise from the red marker. Light.

Pros
  • home and kitchen
Cons
  • old

First reading is unreliable.

I tested it in a pot of boiling water and it registered 200 degrees. It has instructions for loosening and recalibrating the nut on the back, but it's impractical. Confidence that the reading will eventually be within 5 degrees of 180. I want to brew green tea in a thermos.

Pros
  • Instant Read
Cons
  • I'll write later

You don't have to guess if the bread is ready!

I had one of these for years when I dropped mine and it broke I was afraid I would never find one again. I then found it on Amazon, although I had to return it as it was a smaller version of it. Revain was very helpful. This is the best bread thermometer I have ever seen. Precise and exactly what I need.

Pros
  • Thermometer and timer
Cons
  • Hard to say

Worse than useless in instant read

First, look closely at the readings. What is 160 degrees now? Is it a black line or a red one? Not quite sure? Okay, let's start at 0 and work our way up. Well, zero is a red mark, so it's straight, right? And the next big black spot is 10, so far so good. 20 red.30. 40th 50th yes? wait now 60 black? What the... So basically, the reading is worse than useless, the last thing anyone wants is an ambiguous temperature reading on their meat thermometer.

Pros
  • Kitchen and dining room
Cons
  • Vulgarity
