If I'm going to the trouble of making a salad dressing, I don't think it's too much to ask for the snap-on lid to stay closed so the dressing doesn't absorb fridge odors and stay fresh. I mean, honestly, just take another dollar and make a working cap! I'll be back and trying out Calder's model. Also, the recipe for the Caesar sauce with yogurt as the main ingredient was just weird and boring.

Unfortunately I bought two of these. Good news. The containers are attractive and a good size. Bandages look good on the inside. Bad news: Lids are useless. They don't slam, they just roll over. If you shake without holding the lid, the dressing will fly apart. If you hold it tight, it still drips from the threaded sides, your hands are wet and oily, and where you put it is a mess. PURPOSE: Purchased for vinaigrette salad dressing. MATERIALS/CONSTRUCTION: Slightly thin, lightweight plastic lid. The glass bottle is transparent, shielded markings appear to be worn. (Hand wash only) FUNCTION: THE CAP DOES NOT HOLD ON THE GLASS BOTTLE. Tried a range from slightly tight to extra tight, TWO I BUYED A WATER LEAK when the bottle was upside down. There is no seal on the lid. The hinged lid doesn't let water through, but it's not very reliable. You must keep it closed when shaking…

This is one of the few times that Amazon reviews have let me down. I bought this to have on hand whenever I make my own dressings or sauces to use for a few days. My bottle was placed in the back of the cupboard and I forgot about it until I moved in and decided I should use it as I finally had room for everything. everywhere from the first shakes! I thought maybe the lid wasn't tight enough, but it was still leaking. I held onto the flip-top but the ingredients were still pouring down my hand.
