The leading edge of this blade is very rough. Therefore, if you try to slide under something, even if it's slightly sticky, it won't work. Sticking eggs, pancakes, etc. to the rough front edge will make the spatula useless. Look elsewhere for a spatula and pass it on.

This spatula feels strong yet light in the hand. We have an old Norpro of the same model that has been well maintained and has been in use for many years. Business is strong and will get a job; As other reviewers have noted, you might melt a bit the first time you use it, but that wears off quickly and the spatula is fine. Pleasant to the touch handle - not too big and not too small.

Edited 12/30/17: I'm increasing my rating to 3 stars. This spatula stopped leaving black melt marks after a few uses. I use it fairly regularly, but I'm also too lazy to find a better one. It's still flimsy but does a great job with most light jobs (e.g. quesadillas). I bought this spatula because of the "heat resistance" claim.
