🌽 Norpro Wide Mouth Green Plastic Funnel (4.75in/12cm) for Effective Canning Review

Extremely sharp edges as they don't bother to seal the plastic after cutting. The handle is dangerous and even sharp on the edge! The plastic is very thin. This is not intended for wide mouth jars. Medium width only. Completely inaccurate description and totally overpriced, oh you'll find that in a dollar store. In fact, you could find better ones at the Dollar Store. Very disappointed!

I bought this to replace my previous ten year old Back to Basics dosing funnel which was cracked. It's a sad replacement - it just looks and feels far-fetched and unreliable. The mouth of the jar is the same width as my previous one, but the capacity of the funnel is slightly smaller. I'll keep it because I need it and it hurts to return it, but it's not as good as my first one. I wouldn't pay that price to see it live in a store.

Too bad I didn't buy stainless steel. It's a cheap plastic and I'm pretty sure it will add BPA to hot meals, which just means I won't be using it for canning. I didn't buy it for that though. I like pre-measuring things like flour, cookies, and other baking mixes in jars for quick baking. Also cereal so I can easily keep it in the fridge where the box takes up too much space. I cannot receive these items through the regular funnel. For my limited purposes, that's fine. It's cheap plastic, FYI.

I make quite a lot of homemade sauces, sauerkraut etc and have been to the Look for a funnel with a wide neck. which I could use to pour into Mason jars from the cook/fermenter. This little beauty falls into the winners circle. It's nice and wide, so if you're pouring some thick sauce (or sauerkraut) into another container or jar, it'll fit perfectly in the hole. I didn't have to worry about rebalancing the funnel or having a handle too long to catch on my sleeve and fall out! Thanks to the…
