Negative reviews are a lot of crap and pretty easy to spot. Turn it on, put it on the cake, sing a song, turn it off. The battery won't run out if you don't use it as a night light. Perfect for anyone who doesn't need to be near an open fire: kids, pets, my nephew, etc. Pyromania is a serious thing.

Fire hazard Bought two, one didn't catch fire, had to replace. The second try worked and they looked amazing. However, while the candle on one burned out and went out, the other set the plastic number on fire, expelling black toxic smoke. I'm glad we were in the room to see it and put it out. This "novelty" requires a metal piece into which candies are placed.

Unusable for the purpose it was intended for judging by the picture. In the picture it looks like the whole room is illuminated. The number does not light up at all. There are 3 small lights in the BASE, but these lights don't actually light up. And the number doesn't have a stick or anything attached to put a real cake in it, so it's basically just wobbling and sitting askew on the cake and the light switch is exposed to the frosting. I will never buy again.

Bought exclusively for the LED candle holder, an added bonus was that the kit included candles so I wasn't too upset that one of the candles melted into the second but wanted to post this in case anyone I expected to be able to pick a specific color that comes with the candle. Even in complete darkness with no windows, only part of the stand is lit. My grandson will be so disappointed - I got number 5 last year and the whole number lit up, lit up, it was quite exciting (he loved it more than any of his gifts lol). This product was a cute concept and it really worked. but the plastic part (the number holding the candle) was covered in scratches. strange because it was even in a plastic/cardboard case that had to be opened.
