Good choice of open source 3d software for architectural visualization

NOX is a very flexible renderer with a variety of rendering technologies. The renderer is designed to be easy to use and is supported by large communities. I use NOX for most of my 3d projects: I use it for architectural visualization, architectural design, CAD visualization, and animation. I like that it is highly customizable and has a growing community behind it. Although NOX is fast, it has a lot of memory to run on, and can take up a lot of hard drive space and bandwidth. I also dislike…

Pros
  • Easy integration
  • Flexibility
  • Open Source project.
  • Fast execution time compared others such vray or mentalRay etc
Cons
  • Not so intuitive at first glance; requires some reading before getting started

Fast & Accurate Renderer w High Quality Results

We use NOX for all our rendering needs at work - it's fast! It has been very helpful to have such powerful tools available in one package without having to pay extra fees or rely on 3rd party software. I cannot think of anything that we dislike about this product other than perhaps not being able to adjust some parameters more precisely (eg., how much detail can be rendered before aliasing artifacts appear?). If you are looking for an accurate render engine with great performance capabilities…

Pros
  • Even though many people may say they prefer Catmull Clamp over Subdivision Modifier , once used properly these two together make for amazing visuals !!!!
Cons
  • No major complaints
