Works great, be sure to connect 3.3V to your PI

Use this with an Atomic PI (x86 Atom, not ARM) to communicate with a Renogy solar charge controller. I had to open Renogy to determine the pin layout, but after that it was easy to connect to the UART GPIO PI pins. The thing is really small. IMHO it's better to solder wires to flat surfaces than to holes. This device has 2 LEDs. One is always on (power) and the other is on when data is being sent (at least it's not on all the time).

Has TX and RX LEDs for computer accessories and peripherals

Uses this to read data from the RS232 port of my inverters with wemos d1 mini and send data to the MQTT broker. I bought a few others while coding for Wemos and trying to get data from the inverter. It has power, transmit, and receive indicators that are useful when debugging code. Finally got a reply from the inverter and this inverter is working fine. I see visually when a command is sent to the inverter and a response is sent back from it. I also like that it has nice pins for soldering…

Excellent board, easy to use, reliable.

These are my favorite parts for TTL to RS232 conversion: they work very well and they don't connect to the DE-9 connector which I don't normally need. They are very reliable and easy to work with Arduino, Pi and BeagleBone and the price is definitely right. The silkscreen legends are clear and very useful: no need to search the web for the pinout, although the chip datasheet is there. detailed and helpful, and worth a look.
