Based on the opinions of some reviewers I bought this to crack pecans. Didn't know they were screaming pecans. Our pecans don't even go in your mouth. Might be good for hazelnuts or peanuts (which aren't needed),

It looked larger in the photo. It's about 8 inches in total. You have to spin very fast. This will really ruin most pecans, you won't have those pretty halves. Back to Single Cracker, it works better.

I liked the fact that it should turn nuts faster and overall I think it works a bit. But it doesn't grab nuts very well, letting them run through the clicking gears. It was disappointing. I spent most of the time pushing the nuts down so the gears would engage them.

This is a great little pecan peeler. The only improvement I'd like to see is a hard rubber wheel inside that cracks the nuts. The aluminum wheel doesn't grip the pecans as well as it could and I had to take it out and sharpen it, I'll modify mine. Otherwise it's great.

We got The Nutcracker the other day. I didn't know there were colors other than gray, but that's when. I would like red. Not as big as it looks in the picture but I didn't read the size of the container. It takes a little time to figure out how far to turn the bolt to get the nuts to crack properly. Much better than doing it when I was 16 pounds. It was very slow going, but now it's a slow selection. I'm glad I found this.

We really hoped this nutcracker would solve our problem. We grow almonds in our home garden and it is from this variety - Hardy Almonds - that the classic hard nuts are made.
