Allergic to price gouging! Price doubled in one day!

I have been feeding my dog Nutro since she was a puppy. She loves it and until recently that was all I fed her. All I can assume is a huge price increase (hell almost doubled overnight!) due to price gouging due to Covid-19. Switch to chicken, rice and veggies or cheap dog food and I won't!

Pros
  • This is amazing

Dear Nutro dog food / Be very careful with dog food and treats

My dog is 12 years old and healthy as a horse. I'm very picky about what I give her. Be very careful with the treats you give your dog. Everything soft contains propylene glycol. Even Milk Bones has a carcinogenic BHTBot. My friend is a vet. I only give her Paul Newman natural treats. Always read the ingredients of dog food and treats. DOG LOVERS

This made our two dogs very sick!

Both my older and one year old dogs ate Iams dry food but Nutro looked healthier so we gradually switched to it. Both of them got sick from this meal. I blamed everything but Nutro food for her frequent bowel movements and loose stools. A month later and a second 30 pound sack the senior needed a visit to our vet as she was also now throwing up. He suggested changing the diet so we went on a scientific diet and both of our stomach problems were gone within 2 days. I don't know what is in this…

My one year old lab raises two legs

My lab has been taking Nutro Ultra since he was 6 weeks old. It is highly recommended to use formula for puppies up to one year of age and then gradually switch to a corrective formula over the next month (from 1/1 pup to adult within 2 weeks > then fully grown). Feed my former male Labrador this food and he has thrived for 15 years. It's a bit pricey, but the dog isn't eating enough to get the nutrients it needs, meaning a healthier dog and less cleaning for you. For those who feed their…

The best food for dogs.

I have a Golden Retriever puppy with a very sensitive stomach and sensitive dry skin. We did everything the vet said and tried Eukanuba, Hills Science Diet, Purina Sensitive Formula and Rachel Ray and couldn't settle our pup's stomach and ended up feeding him chicken and rice for almost a week. We tried this food and since we started we haven't had any stomach problems and his skin isn't scaly anymore and we can't believe it! When we tried this food we would have settled for anything that…

Pros
  • Confident

  • Could have chosen a newer model

Would have given Nutro Ultra Dry Dog Food 5 stars if it weren't for a circumstance. salmon ingredient. Unfortunately, my husband has a severe fish allergy, particularly to salmon. After blaming mold, tree pollen, grass and the weather for his escalating allergic reactions for an entire summer, the most likely cause was the heavy dust particles that come from dry salmon dog food, until we reordered. The dog loved his food. My husband is not very good. I can't fault Nutro as they clearly state…

what did you do in max

I started feeding my dogs Nutro Max large breed dog food over 14 years ago on the advice of my dog's breeder. We had a good time and my dogs liked the food. Their fur was shiny and they were in good health. Now this "new" recipe, which includes dried vegetables and fruits, sunflower oil, whole flax and chia seeds, and dried coconut, is totally unacceptable. My dog is a dog and does not like or eat fruit, vegetables or seeds. The ingredients may be of the same quality, but I doubt it since my…

My dog ate puppy intestines, now it's time for the big stuff!

Our dog is a rescue dog. My son found him in a busy parking lot and people kicked him. No chips, no chip. No collar. They just threw it away like garbage. We are an elderly couple who can share many hours a day with a pet. We were visiting my son when he told us what had happened. He cannot have pets. When he brought this fluffy puppy around the corner, my husband fell in love with him. The dog was about 3 months old and had a thick reddish blond coat. We decided to bring him home and see what…

My American/English Bulldog health saved

Because all this dog food panic is making dogs seriously ill and even causing their deaths. Last year we adopted a 3 year old American English Bulldog. He's more American. I wanted to make sure our dog was okay, at least as far as the food was concerned, especially when I found out that our friend's dog had died prematurely from the food. I've been researching which brands are best for American Bulldogs. I've found that some of the best dog foods have changed their formula and made dogs sick…
