Great little transcoder

Like many people, I bought this card as a dedicated transcoding card for the Plex server. Before I had a dedicated Plex box, I used my main PC and a GTX 1080Ti to transcode on demand. For a small, low-power card, this thing can easily handle 6+ simultaneous transcodes. You pay a "quad penalty" in terms of price, but at $400 this thing can really boost your Plex server if that's what you're after.

Pros
  • Video RAM: 5GB GDDR5
Cons
  • Good but not great

Works great with Plex

Bought this card for Plex mainly due to the move to x265/HEVC files. Overall a great card, I just didn't like that the product didn't come with the original packaging. It was in a box marked 'New'. I'm a bit skeptical as to where that actually comes from. Even if the number of stars should reflect the quality of the product. I removed two as this listing is supposed to be the PNY card version, but I received the Dell version. If that were the case, I would have bought it from Dell for $349โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Video RAM: 5GB GDDR5
Cons
  • Doubtful

OK but DP signal issue

I needed a more powerful graphics card to handle 4K video on my ASUS M32CD computer with a Dell U2720Q monitor. Pros: I like the 3840 x 2160 resolution and there's less latency when editing 4K videos. Cons: When I turn off the monitor and later turn it back on, my monitor tells me "No DP signal from your device". At this point, I'm forced to turn the computer off and back on with the power button. This happens with the latest installed drivers. I'm still looking for a solution to this problemโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Chipset: NVIDIA Quadro P2000
Cons
  • Requires socket
