Our old-timer brushes his teeth every day and regular pet brushes were too harsh for him. He doesn't fight/ flinch with this brush. except the taste of toothpaste. I haven't tried it, I trust the guard dog as he eats everything. So we only save toothpaste as a last resort and continue to use the brush with Virbac CET toothpaste. And the toothbrush is made out of a mat that looks/feels like it will last longer than "others". He is softer; but more durable.

I don't think a finger brush would fit my Beagle, an older, medium sized dog. I think it's more for your small dogs like chihuahua and shih tzu. But the toothbrush works well and the handles make it easy to hold. My dog seems to tolerate pasta better than baking soda and water. It's still weird to think of "bacon extract" as a suitable toothpaste ingredient, but it works. Overall it gets the job done and my dog seems to tolerate it. Better than buying them individually. Would buy again.

I have been using this set for about 3 years (not part finger but brush and toothpaste) after a breeder recommended it to me because of the rubbery bristles. Great brush head for Miniature Schnauzers. I try to use it every day - just a quick brush on the outside of my teeth. I've been using the Nylabone Dental Kit ever since, my two older dogs I didn't need an annual vet cleaning and that says it all! I even use it on my new pup to teach him to love his teeth.

My 10 lb 6 year old chihuahua loves the taste of this toothpaste; I love the smell and the texture. Brushing his teeth is very easy for him, I use a small rubber brush because he is very afraid of the toothbrush. The bristles of the rubber brush are soft and elastic; This is important because he has a lot of dental problems and many of his teeth have had surgery and his gums are sensitive. I have an 11 year old bichon and this is the first product I have used to clean his teeth. It was very easy to use and smells like bacon. But my dog doesn't like the smell or the taste. That's the only reason I gave 4 stars. I was amazed at how he removed some of the staining on his teeth near the gumline with just one brushing.
