In this case, the original OEM SSD was used.

I tried another brand that claims to be compatible with my mid 2014 MacBook Pro but when the SSD is busy I got a BUS exception. This is a genuine Apple OEM SSD and it worked for me.

Great upgrade for computers and accessories

This is a great upgrade. Now I have 500GB free space to play with. This SSD (Samsung) is significantly faster than the one I had in the 128GB MacBook Pro (Mid 2014 model) with SanDisk SSD (700Mbps vs 400Mbps). I was thinking of buying a new owc aura (500Mbps) but due to many negative reviews (thermo, speed and bad service. I could be wrong) and high cost (390 or 450 for 480GB) I decided I Don't Buy OWC Aura And Go For This Pre-owned Genuine Mac SSD (Comes With A 60-Day Warranty). I'm happy with
