☕ Oggi Coffee Carafe 68oz Catalina Stainless Steel: Premium Quality Brewer for Refreshing Coffee Review

I like this carafe. Keeps the coffee hot for many hours. Last night, after less than three months of daily use, the plastic button latch broke. Poor construction with flimsy plastic that always flexes to stay tight.

I have bought Oggi products before and have always been satisfied, I am very surprised that this product does not do what it says it does and it also seems dangerous. If you pour hot water into it, when pouring water into a cup, it splashes everywhere and literally burns my hand several times. Luckily the water wasn't that hot! In addition, the water loses its temperature in a few hours. I do not recommend this product unless you are looking for a carafe and not a thermograph.

We use a carafe to keep the coffee warm. After brewing coffee, we store it in a carafe to preserve the original brew flavor without further "brewing" the coffee in the pot. The reason we gave this carafe 4 stars instead of 5 is because when you press the lever to pour coffee, coffee spits out of the top lid and coffee drips. Our original decanter never does. We've had an Oggi carafe for a long time, but it's time to buy a new one. I like that it now has a larger opening so there is room for a cleaning brush. It's big so we can easily put a full pot of coffee in it. The only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 is the cap. Coffee gets inside so you have to be careful when removing it so it doesn't spill on the counter. They have been redesigned to use a cheap easy to break flap to hold the pump in place during use. It used to be metal (1" x 0.5"). I had one with the old design and it was great. This is the second Oggi Thermograph (Catalina 68oz) that I have purchased. I still have and use my original carafe at home and I liked it so much that I decided to buy a second one to have in the office (on my desk). I found this decanter to be of lower quality than the original. Both the metal and plastic used in its construction appear to be of poor quality and the seal between the metal base and the plastic top is beginning to leak.
