Great buy for a great camera

Pros: - Great build, solid hardware - Excellent image quality and ISO performance - Good menu layout (intimidating at first given the amazing number of features) - Fast and reliable - Wide range on lenses. Zuiko lenses are among the sharpest, lightest and most durable. One of my favorites - Leica 14-50mmCon: - too big for a FourThird body - no main dial for shooting modes (but you get used to it over time and this doesn't affect the speed of work) - with continuous shooting , the user has to…

E-3 is the winner! best in DSLR

Longtime fan of the E-1 but switched to the Nikon D-200 when Olympus didn't release a 10MP camera for years. The E-3 is great and will keep it and the D-200! You won't regret the extra price for lenses with SWD. 5. Like the dual chip setting. cf and XD. You choose which chip you write 6 on. A very small minus. Auto focus does not work when using the live view function. . The autofocus only works through the viewfinder. BUT manual focus works with live view. Now that I've played around with it a

OLYMPUS E-3 for DSLR

I WAS MORE IMPRESSED BY THE RELATIVE PERFORMANCE OF THE E-3. THIS ALLOWS MY NEW NIKON D700 TO SHOOT SELF-PORTRAITS IN LOW LIGHT – AND AT 1/3 ISO BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND THE TECHNICAL LEAP THAT THE E-3 HAS MADE IN BODY IMAGE STABILIZATION! MY E-3 AT ISO 200 - RESOLUTION OF MY NEW D700 AT ISO 500 IN LOW LIGHT SELF-PORTRAIT. YES, I understand ISO. I SHOOTED AT ISO 500 ON THE D700 TO EXCLUDE MY MOTION - NOT COMPLETELY SUCCESSFUL. IMAGE E-3 WAS CRYSTAL CLEAR - NO MOTION APPEARED AT 100%

Great camera if you know how to use it!

First of all I would like to say that if you like the 4/3 system you will love this camera, it is by far the best camera in the system. Secondly, I have to say that this is a great system if you're a fan of gear - Olympus makes the best lenses imaginable for digital equipment, in my opinion. Now why am I saying, "If you know how to use it? The images from the E-3 and E-1 have film-like quality, almost Leica quality. The color reproduction of the E-3 matrix is excellent. And the noise (all image

Olympus Digital E-3 is a superstar!

Although I've been a Nikon f4s and Contax G2 (35mm) user for many years, I've made the switch to digital and I'm glad I chose the Olympus E-3 as my DSLR. The camera is just great photography gear which gives me a great opportunity to switch from a Pro 35mm to a Pro Digital SLR. It's much lighter and more compact than my f4s workhorse, with the same features and lots of extras. Impressive metal case frame, waterproof and airtight like a drum, advanced electronics and intuitive controls. 6 stars…
