New M4/3 Best Digital Camera User

I switched from Sony A6000 to M10 and love the camera. My main reason for switching was the high cost of E-mount lenses compared to the M4/3 format. As another review notes, this might not be a very compelling upgrade if you have the Mark II version. However, if you're new to Olympus, this is a great camera. Although it's a 16MP sensor rather than Sony's 20MP sensor, there's no noticeable difference in image quality in practical use.

Great new tool (toy)

Right out of the box I was concerned about the size and weight of the camera. So small and light that it didn't look like a real camera. Then I started playing with the images and settings and pulling out all sorts of things to photograph. It will take time for an amateur like me to learn and outgrow this wonderful new tool. I will say that unboxing was easy, fun and quick and I was taking photos in less than 2 minutes after picking it up at the door. I look forward to many more great shots and

Good, nowhere near excellent

Had an Om I 35mm in his 20's. That was my price. Although this camera takes decent pictures the quality is not what I expected for the money I paid. The real issue I have is that a lot of people would really like it - the lack of any real manual function and feel. To an extent you always have to rely on their digital nature and being a digital camera I shouldn't have expected anything else. But I don't give 3 stars for that. 3 stars for mediocre image quality. Simply a great camera

I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted this camera or the Sony A6000. I chose it mainly because of the in-body image stabilization. Finally, being able to shoot indoors without worrying about severe image distortion is a blessing. Subjectively, I found taking photos with this camera to be more pleasant. I don't do this for work, I do it as a hobby, so the entertainment aspect of photography is far more important than the actual result. Where I also found the E-M10 superior to the A6000 isโ€ฆ

Probably my 4th Olympus

I know people using Pentax, Nikon, Sony and Canon. I've always used Olympus cameras. At least I had a pen (or two or something), a DSLR, not this camera. This camera fully meets my needs. Below are some comments that you may find helpful. 1) My DSLR doesn't record video and I film my kids' sports. This works very well. Please note that videos cannot be longer than 29 minutes due to EU regulations. I photograph periods/halves etc. and then stitch them together using editing software. 2) Internal

Best in price range?

That's complex. 4-5 stars at $550 will quickly let you down. Negative; A) No microphone input. Damn. Internal mics are probably fine for family use, though, and we use an external recorder for professional use anyway. NEAT VIDEO plugin for Premiere. For medium-sized image prints, you probably don't need to go above 1600 ISO with some noise reduction. However, the ISO performance seems cleaner than the Panasonic G7 (Panasonic GH5 seems to have the cleanest ISO performance of any Micro 4/3โ€ฆ
