Awesome all-in-one camera!

I've had this camera for about 5 weeks and have been very impressed with its ability to capture everything from wide angle indoors to close ups of people and even nature with a 520mm lens. (equivalent) Tele. I even bought a 1.7x tele extender and found it produced very good sharp images at around 800mm equivalent! The camera is easy to use; fast focusing (a bit slow on faint objects); and the menu is very convenient. The only downsides are: raw files take a long time to load; The XD card is not

Great value for money digital camera

I just got this camera yesterday and didn't have time to check all the bells and whistles but I'm in love. I'll confess I've never owned a superzoom or DSLR and haven't bought a digital camera recently, but this camera has more options than my old computer! I played around with the zoom and macro shots and really liked them. I can literally touch my target in super macro and still focus. I prefer the manual zoom (20x optical! What a dream!) at 570 because it's easier to control. My research has

Excellent camera - few flaws

from Olympus C-750UZ (4 MP, 10x zoom) to SP-570UZ. I wanted a longer zoom, higher MP, a zoom ring (selectable as a manual focus ring) and permanent full manual control. I immediately installed a firmware update from the Olympus website to smooth out the zoom ring. I use a 2GB M+ xD card, which stores large photo files fairly quickly. With more experience, many knobs/switches/control rings seem logical enough. I was surprised at the difference in the widest zoom settings - the SP-570 takes up…

Great camera! - Digital Cameras

Thank you Revain. The camera came very quickly and was well packaged. Olympus is really doing something with this design. It's an "essential" camera that sets it apart from the superzoom crowd. When you pick it up, it feels and looks like an SLR camera. The camera is quite heavy, which creates a sense of security. The coating also improves handling and inspires confidence. It seems durable and well built. I really like the zoom ring on the lens. All buttons are conveniently located and easy to…

Undoubtedly the most versatile of the dozen or so cameras (film and digital) I have owned. But it's also the easiest to use in a variety of situations. And the 20x optical zoom is amazing, equivalent to 26-520mm on a classic 35mm camera. A 30x soft zoom mode is available for 3 megapixel recordings, combining 1.5x digital zoom with optical zoom without loss of resolution. Color noise in low light, frankly takes decent pictures in light and at a distance that none of my previous cameras could…
