Poor quality in kitchen and dining area

When cutlery came out the quality (heavy) was not what you would expect from Oneida and in this price range. First, dissatisfied with the dinner fork, not much larger than the salad fork, all the backs are concave, not solid. Very cheap quality in my opinion.

Pros
  • Build quality
Cons
  • Not the best

woe to me for cutlery sets

I bought the set of 4 along with my set of 8 that I bought a few years ago. What I received was not the same as my coveted 8 seater sets. The handles of the knives are rather flat than the nice rounded ones on my original knives. Also, each "piece" was stamped "Made in China" on the back.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Frequency

When I first bought this pattern about 8 years ago they were heavy and the knife handles were particularly comfortable. According to Revinas, while this set is the same model and part, it has certainly come down in price. The handles of the knives in particular are significantly thinner. They're functional, but don't "feel" as good as they used to. Well, modern economy, isn't it?

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Happy to find a pair!

What a joy to find the right cutlery set to complete my set of 20 years! We've lost quite a few forks and spoons over the years (kids accidentally threw them in the trash?). So either start over, or find exactly this. The former have held up well over the years and appear to be of equally good quality. The only slight difference I noticed is that they redesigned the butter knife handle to be thinner than the old set, but they fit better in a drawer.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Notched Left Salad Forks

Oneida has notched salad forks on the left side of these forks. This notch looks like a manufacturing oversight. (see photos) I contacted Oneida about this notch with no satisfaction. This notch is not mentioned in the Revain item descriptions. Why did Oneida purposely put a notch "on one side of the fork but not on the opposite side"? The notch is weird, it's on the left side but not on the right side. This is very noticeable, sharp and reduces the cost of the set. This is not the quality I…

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Thinner knife handles = disappointment

Is there a way to go back in time when people took pride in making something? At least I can gather from other reviews that the current stock of Oneida is different and noticeably inferior in quality to the original, and I'm not just crazy! The most obvious downside is the thin handles of the knives, but the embossing isn't as deep and the curls at the end of the knife handle aren't fully formed, they filled the mold with the smallest amount of metal they could remove with. Very disappointing -

Pros
  • Excellently made
Cons
  • Disappear

Not as thick as pictured.

Overall not a big deal but I was a little disappointed. The design is very nice and the look is appealing. The engraving is simple but strikingly elegant. The images suggest that this is a more three dimensional stainless steel set. Instead, it's flatter than round. Unlike knives, the concave back of the parts makes them light and thin, so if you're looking for a heavier weight, . it's not for you The knives are convex on both sides, but again thinner, which makes them a bit lighter. In…

Pros
  • 18/0 stainless steel. Sturdy and stylish
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

I would like someone to do this pre-purchase verification for me.

Okay, here's the difference. In my opinion, every piece of cutlery, EXCEPT the knife, looks the same. My photos show the difference with 18/8 and 18/0 knives. Those of us who have spent big bucks on 18/8 will be quick to choose theirs. The grip on the right is Revain. The other knife is bulging (our old one). If you need a knife, call a replacement company that can make it right. But here's what I think - nobody's going to pick it up and find out. Now you can decide with the picture. Oneida…
