No matter what anyone says, this WILL NOT WORK with Canon T7. Obviously, the USB port on this camera ONLY supports file transfer. The problem is not with the cable but with the camera itself.

I'm sure it will work for gopros and the like. However, the external microphone adjustment does NOT work with digital SLR cameras. Canon T5 does not work for me. If you need this adapter for your DSLR, don't buy it because you will end up returning it.

I asked if this cable would work for my Canon EOS D70 and got two "yes" replies. So I ordered a cable. Prime shipping was fast and I received an additional email from the seller contacting me which was nice. HOWEVER, the cable does not transmit audio through my camera's mini-USB port. Fits and works but will NOT turn off GoPro's internal mic. Instead, it adds sounds from additional microphones. Frustrated that the GoPro's internal mic is still active, I did a little research and found that the only way to ONLY use an external mic on a GoPro was to buy YOUR $20 adapter.
