Description of 🌡️ Advanced Onyehn BME280 Temp/Humidity/Pressure Sensor Module - I2C Compatible for Arduino (Pack of 2)

BME280 is a precision sensor, is soldered onto PCB. Not only the pressure and the temperature, this sensor can measure humidity. It uses both I2C and SPI (supports 3-, 4-wire SPI) interface. With an I2C connection you have access to enough weather data to make some pretty good predictions for your local area. It is made up of a very accurate pressure sensor and an associated temperature sensor which helps calibrate the pressure readings.

Works well but components are too close to solder pins

Although the product was ordered during prime time, it arrived within 8 days. The item was well packaged and arrived intact. The first attempt to solder the connector resulted in the surface mount component soldering because it was too close to the pins of the connector. scratch one I soldered the next block on the opposite side of the board. Connected the device, it works fine. Returns metrics very similar to the Adafruit model. I like the very small size of the board, but the layout of the…

Pros
  • This sensor can measure not only pressure and temperature but also humidity.
Cons
  • There are defects

I may have returned this item in error.

This product is hard coded to device address 0x76. I used the Adafruit_BME280_library, which defaults to device address 0x77, so the example test programs reported a device error. To fix Adafruit test programs and/or other programs that use Adafruit_BME280_library to use this type of bme280 module, change the bme device initialization call from: bme.begin(); on bme.begin(0x76); If I knew about this sooner and returned this order, it might save everyone the inconvenience of returning this order.

Pros
  • With an I2C connection, you have access to enough weather data to make pretty good forecasts for your area.
Cons
  • I will add later

At least 25% of the ones I received didn't work

A 30 day return policy is good IF you use ALL the products within those 30 days. But if you use it once every 2 weeks or so, or maybe even keep a pair for future use, the return policy is utterly useless as it's in place. 2 of these BME sensors worked fine but the third one I tried was DOA - dead. I'm a professional engineer and looked at them under a magnifying glass. Now I understand why some of them are prone to crash. Note, however, that if you don't connect all of them within the 30-day…

Pros
  • BME280 - Precision sensor, soldered to the board.
Cons
  • Expensive

My new favorite THP sensor. It's very easy to get started with the Raspberry Pi using the Adafruit_CircuitPython_BME280 library, but if you don't want to solder, note that you'll need to manually set the I2C address to 0x76 as these products come pre-configured for address 0x76, but Adafruit's default product is 0x77. i2c = busio.I2C(board.SCL, board.SDA) bme280 = adafruit_bme280.Adafruit_BME280_I2C(i2c, address=0x76) A few things I don't like about these boards: They're too small, which makes…

Pros
  • In addition to measuring pressure and temperature, this sensor can also measure humidity.
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Very good product. Exactly as shown in the listing.

I bought Adafruit Breakthrough for $20 and they are great quality and easy to use. The Bosch BME280 chip costs a few bucks, but it's tiny and I think it's impossible to hand-solder it. I was looking for a device like this that was small and could be hand soldered onto my PCB and only cost $4.50 each. It works as expected with the Adafruit library. The board has an LDO regulator, so it can run at 5V or 3.3V. If you don't need SPI or level shifting, and want something physically smaller than…

Pros
  • Uses I2C and SPI interface (supports 3-wire and 4-wire SPI).
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for seniors
