Oreck XL Upright Vacuum Cleaner Handle Brace Restoration Kit Review

I should have bought it a year ago as I'm afraid it might be too late for my Oreck. If your pen is showing signs of overuse, get this item NOW!

The bolts are too long and the stem bolts are initially too small to reach the holes with the extra thickness of this brace. :-(

Was looking for a new grip. I could not find. The best and easiest solution I found in this part. It is good strong and works perfectly. The installation only took a few minutes.

The link bracket worked fine but the handle did not fit my 2400 XL model. Probably suitable for 2600xl. I took a chance that it might work. It is possible to modify the tube to make it work if the connection bracket fails over time.

Made of sturdy metal! Vulnerability fixed! At the same time, I did not buy a new top handle. I'm not sure if this will affect the result negatively or positively. Today I am satisfied with the result.

The tubular grip on some early Oreck models breaks where it connects to the down tube. Mine did. I replaced the tube (spare parts exist) and added this spacer. Very easy to do. I would add (if it fits my model) even if the grip tube hasn't failed yet. Sooner or later it probably will.

Bought to add extra strength to a new grip that snapped off a perfectly working Oreck XL. I love that I have a brace for extra support, but the included screws are too long and the original screws are too short. I'll keep looking for screws that are "just right" at local hardware stores, but for now the strut is hanging in vacuum because the screws are too long. Time will tell if that was a waste of money but for now my vacuum is back in business.
