Good product. in Computer Accessories & Peripherals

External SSD works great. The heatsink makes it better than most other docking stations. Very easy to install, just plug in and connect the SSD module.

Great for recycling old internal hard drives

I used this for an internal hard drive from my old windows laptop (replaced with an SSD). First, I was able to use it with an SSD to clone an old hard drive before installation. I then used that to erase the old hard drive, which is now permanently in the case as a backup drive. Made for a low cost 500GB USB 3.0 external hard drive on an internal hard drive that was no longer used.

Works as intended, the case is made of hard plastic, it cannot be dropped.

Comes in a transparent case which makes it fairly easy to identify the drive inside the case. I would not recommend dropping the case as it is made of hard/clear plastic and will likely break or break easily. In general I would try to avoid dropping hard drives. I use it for Samsung SSDs, EVO-850 /860 and it works Make sure you are using USB 3 or 3.1 interface for best performance.
