Great for recycling old internal hard drives
I used this for an internal hard drive from my old windows laptop (replaced with an SSD). First, I was able to use it with an SSD to clone an old hard drive before installation. I then used that to erase the old hard drive, which is now permanently in the case as a backup drive. Made for a low cost 500GB USB 3.0 external hard drive on an internal hard drive that was no longer used.
