Works as it should - CB and talkback radios

Works right out of the box as I've already used a UV-5T cable. Windows 10 picked up this cable flawlessly with the same driver. The programmed radio with chirp imported my frequencies and changed the service settings so the intermodulation wasn't that bad, just remember to turn the volume all the way up like the UV-5R.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • No paint required

Works as expected - with one small complaint

The problem I see with this cable is that it doesn't have a captive screw. I think since it's a programming cable it should have a captive thumbscrew so you can connect it without tools. Because the screw is non-retractable and very small, it is easy to lose it, rendering the cable useless. Now I store mine in a ziplock bag with a piece of tape over the screw.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Another happy user.

Ready to use with Chirp and my Baofeng UV-9R plus. No glitches, no problems. I don't know what problems one-star reviewers have (besides saying it doesn't work or that it's "crap"), but I suspect they did something wrong and immediately blamed the cable . I'll say that I ONLY used the Chirp software because I'm familiar with it - and I'm a fan of open source software.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Useless features

Can be used for radio programming but is cool

Great for radio programming. The connector to the pins on the radio is cheap. You will lose the supplied screw as it is not secured. I just held the connector to the radio, I think you could wrap it in programming tape. The USB connector is pretty flimsy, don't hit it at all or it will break in half. I made mine but bent them even though the plastic broke off.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Some cons

THE RIGHT CABLE for Baofeng UV-9R PLUS!

I bought this to use with my Baofeng UV-9R PLUS. In short, this is the right cable. Buy it. My tablet PC is an old device by today's standards. This is Dell Venue 11 Pro with Windows 8.1, 32-bit operating system, x64-based processor, Intel Atom Z3770 processor. It found the cable automatically when plugged into the USB port. I didn't use the mini disc that came with it. I downloaded CHIRP, my tablet only has a USB port so it shows up in CHIRP. You may need to specify the correct port number - I

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
