Tabac is a classic shaving soap. The scent is ambiguous, but if you like vintage scents, you'll probably love this one. Real money in foam. This soap forms a smooth yoghurt foam very easily. Small things have a big impact. I charge a wet brush for 10 seconds and can make enough shaving cream in three passes. The original recipe with fat has now been replaced by a vegan recipe. The jury is still out. I hope they didn't ruin anything good!

When I heard Tabac went from greasy to vegan, I bought another original Tabac washer. Tabac is a great handmade soap. Forms a thick creamy foam. A hard washing machine lasts a long time. This shaving soap is one of my favorites. A classic barber scent. In fact, a recent reviewer for Tabac's new vegan tobacco says it's even better than the original. In any case, you won't be disappointed.

Literally my favorite tallow/fat based shaving soap. I have read most of the comments and the Q&A and as always I have received a lot of amazing information. However, along with dampening this soap before lathering, I would recommend a standard boar hairbrush. The hardness creates a wonderful foam! Boar hair is a classic tallow soap brush. Check out Parker or Proraso for $20, you can't go wrong. (Sorry if someone suggested this in a previous post.)

Tabac and Mitchell's Wool Fat are my everyday soaps. Da Fat is known for its after-shave feel, but is difficult to lather in hard water. Tobacco, on the other hand, is versatile. Lathers up easily, super smooth for a comfortable, close shave and the soap lasts forever; about 2 years old. Tabac is also great for beginners as it is very easy to use. A possible issue is that some people complain about the smell, but it doesn't bother me. Highly recommended 👍👍

I gave this soap a week to work its magic. He just never showed up. It took a lot of work to create the foam and it dried after one pass with a safety razor. As a zero balance after 1 move. But even worse, I had allergies after using it. Not on my face but a typical sinus allergy from ingredients/smell. And oh, the smell is strong. If you want to smell like a baby, use this soap. I received it and have only used it once so far, but I would say it doesn't compare to the red PRORASO that I also have in my closet. Everyone loves this soap. They all say it lathers great, is really slippery and is a staple of any shave. I didn't have that experience. I can make it foam, but I don't think it's very smooth. Has no residual smoothness. With a razor, glide is more important than cushion. When it comes to fragrances, everyone says they either love them or hate them. Again. Fur. Since smell is mostly subjective, I don't think this product is bad. This provided a good shave in terms of foam thickness and smoothness. While the name "Tabac" actually advertises that the scent will smell like tobacco, I was hoping for a nice pipe tobacco smell - this stuff smells like they've managed to capture the essence of cheap cigarette smoke from a public restroom.
