Works great on my Velbon camera tripod. I have Orion 10x50 Ultraview binoculars and I love how the binocular attachment allows for some movement (lifting one side a little to adjust the view); not too tight and not too loose. Stable and not too heavy.

As mentioned earlier, the Orion 5271 Tripod Adapter gets the job done. Well made and sturdy, it holds a pair of my large Nikon Monarchs securely on a tripod. Getting the knurled grip out with your fingers and screwing it down is a bear though. It has to be worked on and you don't want to do it over and over again while hunting or bird watching!

This adapter was just what I needed as it's sturdy, has a decent length thread and a large locking knob. I adjusted the Orion 10x50 UltraView binoculars perfectly and attached them securely to the tripod. I originally bought a Carson TA-50 adapter that was just too small and had short threads that weren't sure to fully engage. Orion is suitable for large porro prism binoculars and not for roof prisms, which have little space between the tubes. It meets my expectations and I am very satisfied.
