Nice big backpack but daypack is too small

Pros: - Roomy in main pack - Convenient to carry - Hand straps work well - Holds up well as checked baggage - Treated with permethrin and doesn't stain Cons : The detachable Day pack is so small which is hardly helpful. - When you load a daypack, the water bottles don't fit in the space for it (wish the bottle holder was on the side instead). Overall I wish I had just bought a Fairview 40 and used my separate daypack. Pairing them together seems like a good idea, but when they're filled with…

Great backpack but not enough room for my needs

Ordered this backpack for a trip to Chile in the fall. Just a word of caution to remember that the 55 includes a backpack, so most of the bag itself holds less than you might expect. I'm returning it for the larger version of the Fairview 70 so I can combine my winter clothes and hiking boots for a 5 week trip to South America. I used it on a trip to warm up and it kept my stuff in an accessible way. A small ziplock bag is a great bonus. You can lock the main compartment if you need to leave it open somewhere while you roam and your

Love this backpack on backpacks

I love this backpack. It easily fits 10+ days of clothing, a jacket and a pair of sandals from a recent 16 day trip to Europe (the reason I bought the bag, although I think using the packing cubes helped too). It's technically too big for carry-on but I've never had a problem carrying it on the 10 flights and multiple airlines since I bought this bag. The color is excellent (although more turquoise than it appears in the pictures). The perfect size daypack to fit under your seat on planes or…
