Oster 00000 Size 76918-006 Blade - Ultra Fine 0.2mm Cutting Width Review

I recently bought an Oster 00000 detachable blade to use on my husband. He can no longer shave (due to dementia) and has always had a very coarse beard. If he wanted to be clean-shaven, he would have to shave twice a day, 9-10 hours apart. This blade offers the closest shave ever. I also used beard oil to soften the hair. Shaving with a straight razor at a hair salon costs between $15 and $20. We save that for special occasions, and at least I can do it for him.

This blade is not nearly as good as my other Easter blades. I have been using the Oster 3-0 blade with my Classic 76 for 15 years to clean my neck, under my chin etc. I finally decided to try this 5-0 blade looking for a more precise cut than the 3-0. The first issue is that upon closer inspection it was found that it does not have a nylon blade guide, rendering it inoperable. I have been shaving my head with 0 blades for 19 years. Just recently when I was looking for a new blade for my Oster 76 I noticed that there is a 00000 blade, definitely a narrower version which is good as it saves me a few days before I feel like buzzing have to again. It's also helpful if I plan to use a razor after using my oster as the razor blade is less likely to become clogged with hair.
