Difficult to read fingerprints

I am not at all happy with the cover they put on the fingerprint reader. I don't think the people at Otterbox bothered to test this feature. Touch ID not working. Another reviewer said they reset their fingerprints by scanning the lid, but that didn't work for me. The phone had trouble reading my fingerprints just to set them up and Touch ID doesn't recognize any of them to unlock the phone. Built like a tank, best in plain cases

I'm in construction, so I was looking for some 'heavy duty' protection for my phone. OtterBox kept popping up during research, so I got my first Defender (iPhone 6s) 2.5 years ago. My phone has been dropped on the floor from time to time, been exposed to sawdust, and even had foam insulation on the lid. None of that stopped this hard phone case! OTTERBOX joined the Cheaper, More Profitable Society

In May 2016 I bought an iPhone 5SE and an Otterbox Defender. For five years I completely disassembled it once a month to clean it of concrete dust that could get between the phone's screen and the Otterbox screen. I've never broken one of the plastic tabs, and while there are scratches on the Otterbox's outer screen, that's not bad considering five years of wiping with not always clean fingers.
