I prefer Outdoor Research Vigor Midweight Gloves to these gloves

**This is the same review I posted for the OR Vigor Midweight Gloves that I purchased. I ended up sending the backstop gloves back. That gives us many options. I looked at gloves in this weight class and looked at several options. A glove that is too thick and you lose your dexterity or you get circulatory problems. The glove is thin and not warm enough. My use case is cycling in temperatures from 20°F to 40°F where wind chill is an issue. I figured backstop gloves would work best for this…

Pros
  • Wide Range
Cons
  • Legacy Model

Not waterproof! Do not buy!

I bought these running gloves because Outdoor Research said they were Gortex and waterproof, they are NOT. This is totally false marketing, all you have to do is put them on, put your hands under the sink and you're getting us wet. DO NOT buy them! The Consumer Protection Agency should penalize OR and it is unfortunate that this historically good company resorts to mismarketing such products.

Best in Gloves & Mittens Balanced Gloves

These gloves strike the right balance of warmth and functionality. I mean really warm, not "just barely my fingers feel warm" like wearing thin gloves. The windproof back keeps out cold, windy days, but the gloves aren't so thick that I can't tamper with my car keys. The only reason they aren't 5 is that I wish they were more stretchy, but I guess that's just the limit of fabric technology.

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Worries me

Not old/original protective gloves OR

It's not what it used to be. I had two pairs of these. One with a touchscreen and one with a touchscreen. The original was the best, touchscreen capability let the chill through. But they were still great gloves. Keeps the rest of the fingers warm and makes them nice and thin. Worn out the first pair and recently lost the second. Just ordered a third pair and sent them back. The material is like cheap plastic and they are not flimsy at all. It looks like they will expand over time. Came back…

My permanent glove: Accessory

I love these gloves. Yes some people complain about the grip pads coming off but they are not heavy duty, they are like lightweight driving gloves but perfect for minimal cold weather and phone calls. Cool color - looks great with brown leather shoes or boots etc.

Cons

Decent gloves suitable for gloves and mittens

I like gloves because you can save some dexterity to fiddle with keys etc but they seem a bit loose on the fingers. I tried on the exact same pair in store but bought cheaper on Amazon. I probably should have bought a pair from the store as they appear to be defective discount gloves. Irregularly shaped pinky on one hand and they seem looser around the fingers than those in the store.

Pros
  • understandable also for old
Cons
  • compatibility

Fantastic hiking/camping gloves

Bought these for hiking. I don't need a very thick glove, just a little until I get warm from the hike. These gloves are amazing. I love her. I'm a bit biased towards OR equipment, although that's true, it's really great equipment. I would recommend them to anyone who needs lighter weight gloves. They are fleece lined and very comfortable and soft. And they keep the wind completely off your hands.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Some issues

Good glove for light work in not too cold weather.

These were great gloves and I wish I could like them better but they didn't fit me in the long run. I used them as everyday gloves in temperatures from 20 to 40 degrees, especially when cycling. They were just enough for light insulation and wind protection, offered great dexterity and worked great on my smartphone screen. They are not designed for real winter gloves and that is consistent with my experience. They get a bit wet in the rain or play in the snow, and they don't have enough…

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • So far so good
