gets work! (some room for improvement)

no complaints, this model works fine but it seems to me that the harness could be made of cooler mesh or just heavy straps instead of "mantle" of the same nylon is part of the bag. The suspension could benefit from a crossbar between the chest strap and the "armpit strap" for heavy loads. I used the elastic Velcro loop that lay between these straps to stabilize our large loads. My German Shepherd and I have been using this exemplary dog backpack for about 3 months now and it has not let us…

Got mine in the mail today

Mine just arrived today two days before I thought it was going to arrive! I ordered a medium for my Beagle/Amstaff mix. I gave it 4 stars because the second strap on the bottom is very close to his privates so I'm afraid he might just piss on it but we'll just have to see how it works. I also think the company should offer more sizes so the straps don't hang that low for some of us! I think the small one would be too small so for 17.99 including shipping it should work! I also tried it at my…

Great for daily walks and runs

My dog gets about 5-10 miles of exercise in the form of walks, runs, runs or bike rides. She goes through snow, rain, beach, woods and suburbs with this backpack filled with 12-ounce water bottles on each side. I bought this bag a year ago and it's still holding up. It's a little shabby, but not much worse than mine in elementary school. With daily use it had to wear out. I was so worried it was going to stop (that he's running low) and I'm glad I bought a second one. These bags are big. My dog

Time and effort in advance

There was no size chart when I originally ordered, so I deviated from the reviews and had to buy twice. Don't buy this product based on your dog's weight, buy it based on their girth. I personally like how my pup looks in his backpack. It also gives him work and tires him out more than a simple walk. I also like the mesh pocket on the outside which gives you easy access to essentials like your keys, phone, a pack of gum, etc. Yes the straps are long as mentioned in many other reviews but this…

Large size for my GSD

My German Shepherd is perfect for the large size. It is in the 70-80 lb range; very active adult dog without being overweight. The large will also work for a much larger dog as I had to tighten the straps so that the end of the strap hangs almost to the ground. I can't imagine how big a dog would have to be to fit XL - maybe a very fat St. Bernard or something. The bag itself makes a fairly robust impression. I put two water bottles on each side and the bottles fit well. I also occasionally put

Out, he-ah! best in Dogs

I was a little confused at first about which size to go, but I'm glad I went small over medium. My dog is 26 pounds but has a 22" bust so is technically classified as medium, but he is quite a short guy (25" long x 16" tall) so the small size is actually perfect for him. Fits: The small backpack ends in the middle of his back (about 9 inches from his neck) so it doesn't add much weight for those special moments when he likes to leave me gifts. And that leaves enough room for his bait and tackle

Manufacturer's workmanship error

EDIT 05/06/2012: The seller refunded the money for a faulty or poorly designed overhead harness system. And he didn't require me to send the backpack back, which saved me the return shipping. Many thanks to the seller who took responsibility for my problems in the most pleasant way. I then found a replacement on site and after a thorough examination bought it as a replacement. The design of the straps definitely needs an overhaul to improve reliability and ensure the clips don't detach from the
